Hi Guys,
Will the starter from my original stock 68 289/3speed manual transmission work properly with my late model 5.0/92-T5/T5 bell housing/157 tooth flywheel? If not, what starter do I need?
Thanx In Advance,
Gene

There are two starters made - a long nose and a short nose. Pull the starter and look at the flywheel. Is it right next to the block plate or set back about 1/2" inch? If set back you need the long nose. The short nose has the gear set almost all the way into the housing. The long nose some of the gear is exposed.
