Here is a new one for yas. Just went out to start my car. Turned the ignition key, starter engaged, back off the key, stater still going!!! Shut car off and pulled the keys out and the starter was still cranking the engine!!!!! Thank God I had a 1/2" wrench handy and pulled the ground wire from the battery. Any idea on how it kept running with the ignition turned off? I need some help and input on this one.

I think first off I am going to trace all the wiring. If that don't produce anything, I might replace my soledoid anyways. It's not be acting right also, so that may just be the culprit. Thanks for the input. Feel free to add anything else!

same thing happened to my buddies car and we switched solenoids to see if that was the problem and it wasnt. took the starter to advance to check it and it tested fine. well we bought another one and put it on and hes never had the problem again.

Id be surprised if it wasnt the solenoid because when they stick they provide constant power to the starter regardless of key position. If you cant pull the battery, just whack the solenoid with somethging and itll usually break it free in time to save your starter.
