My friends starter on his 87 GT wont shut off even with the key out, it just continues to crank. what causes this to happen? Starter solenoid, ignition switch?
Mine was a starter solenoid, it was new too, i went to Autozone and bought the heavier duty Red one and haven't had a problem since. There are however other things that could cause it, do a search for disengage and you'll see them.
Hey Mizark347.... A little off topic but a while back I remember you having a bunch of problem's with your 347. (Rotating Assy. & Starter Problem's.) Out of curiosity did you ever get that sorted out and get her running good? If so, How does she run?
Yea. I got her running about 2 months ago. I had to take the motor out and rip it back apart because it was too tight to crank. Turned out one of the rod caps were mixed up and was too tight on the journal. But i matched them up and it runs like a Rapped Ape. Cant wait for new heads. Thanks for askin.
