starting my single turbo install

i'm hoping for about 400-450 RWHP, at under 10 psi (probably around 8-9)

2200 loonies = 1100 toonies

got some work done on the coldside, i just need to pick up some t-bolt clamps and then weld up the seams. we are gonna mount the rest of the down pipe on my buddies hoist at work

pics for you guys.. if you want any more pics of something just let me know i'll see what i can do since i got (stole) my sisters digital camera

Can you still run a/c with a turbo? Seems like everybody has theirs removed....

Yes if it's a single passenger side mounted turbo. Almost always the smog pump must go.

Most twin turbo kits I see you have to ditch the AC. But some probably retain it.
The kit looks badass man..

How much money did you save as opposed to buying a B&G kit. Was thinking about going this route.

this is a B&G hotside/crossover and downpipe. honestly the cold side was a breeze to make, i only had te bend my power steering cooler out of the way abit. it is a rebuilt bottom end that is bassically stock minus JE pistons, but its balanced. hoping to keep the boost around 8 psi so its still streetable and keep my block in one peice ;)

kit cost me about 900 for headers and downpipe, then i paid i think 500 for the turbo in a group purchace on turbomustangs.com

hoping to have it running this week so on saturday i can get it on my buddies hoist and do the suspension and finish the down pipe

my car never came with a/c so i didnt have to worry about it but i am pretty sure that B&G makes a kit so you can retain it

thanks for the comments guys!

got my cold side painted
picked up my t-bolts
punched my oil pan for the oil drain, and hooked up my oil feed line.
welded in my 2 factory O2 bungs and my wide-band O2 Bung
wrapped my downpipe
istalled my MSD box where the battery used to be
installed my PMS and 3 bar map sensor
mounted my battery in the hatch, i just gotta run my wires
drank lots of beer

should have everything mounted up tommorow and probably fire it up. i'll post pics tommorow cause i'm too lazy to do it now

Great progress pics and description of the install! Due to the amount of actual technical MEAT in this thread, I'm going to move it over to the tech forum so the information can be searched for and referenced by others.

I'm as bad about leaving silly comments as the next guy in the Talk forum but since it's being moved to tech, we should try and keep comments tech related from here out so the big wigs don't come and get me. :D

Thanks for the writeup 88_GT_5_oh!

clutch cable is on the drivers side and i just bent the bracket a little cause i didn't like how close it was. its at least 2 inches away now.

more pics soon, i just gotta steal my sisters camera again. it should fire up tommorow

couple pics of the coldside painted with T-bolt clamps, my MSD and PMS mounted. i just gotta run the cable from the trunk for the positive and it should fire up. but now i realized i need to buy some better drain hose and a 45* fiting or else this thing ain't gonna drain

some pics to hold you off till i get it running not much but its something

MSD in place

PMS under passenger seat. i know my carpets are dirty too ;) (white wire goes to the hand held controller)
