my 200 6 cyl starts great when its the motor is cold, you drive it around for a while and try to restart it, and you have to crank it over for like 5 seconds with the pedal floored before it`ll start. Anybody know where I should look?

Does the starter crank at a good speed when it's warm; or does it drag? On a V8; I.ve seen "warm" starters drag like the battery is almost dead; either from the starter being literally hot from the exhaust, or from a little too much advance coupling with good cylinder compression.

On a straight six? I guess either problem could occur.......

Maybe the choke is hanging partially shut; not allowing a lean enough mixture for a warm engine? Need more troubleshooting.

It turns over....

real good just like when its cold, it acts like it takes it 4 or 5 seconds to pick the gas up if that makes any sense.

When the motor is cold, it starts as soon as you hit the key. Then you have to stay on and off the pedal for about a minute before it`ll idle good.

Then once its warm, and you restart it, you have to crank it over several times before it`ll start back with the pedal on the floor.

I think its the carb but not sure.

I dont think the choke works at all

when the motor is cold it would idle higher till it warmed up, and it dont do that.

Is it true the fuel air mix screw you turn it all the way in and back it out 1 1/2 turns to start tuning it? Some bozo had the screw so far out when I got the car you could smell gas blowing out the tailpipe, I screwed it in couple turns, but never seated it and backed it back out.

As yall can tell I dont know much about these things, but ya got to start somewhere when ya cant afford a mechanic.
