I have heard that the steeda cam is made just for our gay computers. is the TFS 1 also? AND, which intake, Edelbrock Perf. RPM, or TFS Track Heat?

BTW the steeda is $199, kinda steep, and I believe the TFS is $99

I have the stage1 and it ran, but at cold startup and if I let it idle too long it would die/stall. there was a surge at off idle- to about 2,000rpms that kinda felt like someone was taping the gas and letting off real quick. The cam ran like a mofo though once it hit 2,300-2,500rpms though.

end note** the car did run, but there were a few issues, nothing major though.

Don't buy a cam with the EEC in mind, get the right cam for what you want, and chip the computer. There are other benefits to the chip that will make it worth it.

And a buddy of mine had the Steeda #19 installed with the Trickflow head kit a few months ago, and the computer still freaked out. So there is no guarantee you won't end up with a chip anyway.

FWIW, brentwoodboy, I have a Tmoss ported gt40 intake, and Ported Thumper gt40 heads, I am re-using the TFS1 cam with this motor/setup. As sug. above I had plans on getting a dyno tune but the tuner left to work with SCT (apten, the same guy that did the 03 eaton port thing) so I went to tweecer instead.

I'm going to use Dave's statement and make another...

Don't buy a cam with cost in mind.

For the intakes, I'd use whatever one you could find faster and/or cheaper. I would be surprised if there was more than a 3 horsepower difference between them.
