Guys its time to go with a rear suspension setup and eliminate the poorly designed stock components. The two choices I've narrowed it down to are the new Steeda 5 Link 2 or the Maximum Motorsports Panhard Bar/Torque Arm Kit. If I go with Steeda I'll probably put on Steeda LCA's and the same if I got with MM then probably MM LCA's. My question is what performs better for a car that is intended for street/roadrace/oval/strip use? Personal experiences and facts needed. Thanks

Well here's the thing. You've asked for facts and personal experiences for two VERY expensive setups. You might find someone who's run one or the other but it will be difficult to find someone who's run them both and can give you a comparison. All I can tell you is that the new 5 link "looks" cool as hell. Never run one though. Sorry :(

Good Point. I may have worded the question wrong. Personal Experience with one or the other is what I was looking for. The only info I have on either of them is what I read about the MM kit out of this months issue of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords and what I have read online about both. The Steeda 5 Link 2 seems to boast that it retains the upper control arm and its function as necessary however the MM Kit says that they are not necessary and do not do there job well at all. I just need something that will plant me nice for a launch off the line and something that will allow me to go into a corner hot and come out very hard. Right now I am leaning towards the Steeda Kit. Can anyone else add to this thread?

the theroy on the steeda design is flawed, you do not need that many links to make it work, the whole point of the maximum motorsports design is to remove the upper control arms. Which casue a number of problems and bind the hell out of the back of the car, and contribute to a poor ride. The suspension system on a fox mustang is a abortion at best. You only really need three points contact, the point is to properly locate the rear axle up and down to apply the most surface area of tire to the ground, the only side affect is wheel hop which the syetem also eliminates. So how could the steeda system work if the limiting fator(upper control arms) are still in place stupid idea really, pm tunedin 302 he has the panhard par tourqe arm kit and can tell you how good it is

Hopin to have my Stang driving on the street in a couple months when the snow is gone. Has full Maximum Motorsports suspension. The only opinion I can give you so far is that the whole suspension LOOKS really nice compared to the stock stuff...haha.

Everything was very well built and went together fairly easily for the most part. I think the new rear suspension is a bit heavier than stock because of the addition of the panhard bar. The torque arm (which replaces the upper control arms and is very very stout btw) is also a bit heavier than the control arms that it replaces. I think the only thing lighter in the rear suspension is the coilovers which save maybe 1 or 2 lbs each. The front suspension is about 50 lbs lighter, so with the added weight in the back from the suspension and battery along with the lightened front suspension, the car should have a decent weight distribution.
