Steeda Adjustable Rear Sway Bar Installed!!! Pics

about a week ago i did my install for my Steeda Adjustable Rear sway bar. Since then i have spent alot of time in the canyons new my home testing out the new bar and getting the adjustment set. The bar made a very nice difference. Its very hard to get the rear end out now. Its grips hard in the rear. Teamed with the Cobra Rear Bar (Which is the same thickness as the Eibach or Steeda HD Bars) it give great stability. I dont think i will ever have to change the settings on the bar because i tune my suspension on a canyon road which is pretty much very close to the way the corners are at the track usually go to (Street of Willow at Willow Springs Raceway)

I am signed up for a Trackday end of February and a Auto-X event mid February....should be fun to see how the bar works out.

Do you compete in a specific class at Willow or is it just for fun?

I'm wondering why you didn't get a PHB yet.

i am not going with a PHB because i dont wanna deal with losing my Tail Pipe or raising my car a little bit to fit the pipe with the PHB, or Modifying my Pipes for the PHB.

i just really like my tail pipes

If you can find a good exhaust shop to weld in the required spacer on the top side of the over axle bend, you can keep the pipes. I just took mine off since it was SS and I didn't want to have to deal with finding a shop to weld it.

It would really make a world of difference for you (moreso than the sway bar), especially since you like the twisties like me

yeah, i may go with a PHB soon..... But before that i need to install my Coil Overs

You should. It will make the biggest difference for you (other than a T/A).

Nice!

I just bought the Steeda adjustable, getting it installed next week. Gonna be using it with the stock GT bar. What settings are you using with the Cobra bar? Is it easy to get in oversteer mode if you adjust too much?

you just need to play with the setting to find what you like. I have mine set up very neutral.

Thats because this set up is PIMP. and i cant straighten out the muffler because its welded and it will turn my tail pipe..... It sideways because i drift too hard

So, had it installed. Adjusted it last night. Are you using two wrenches? I needed to use an open ended wrench on the top or the nylock nut wanted to spin the bolt.

Yes, i use 2 wrenches. A Combination Wrench on top and a Socket drive on the bottom. I installed the bar kinda loose at first but then after i realized how it effect the car i started tightening up. I may tighten it more soon. I want a little more oversteer

How do YOU like the Bar? What did you notice that is different?

Night and day for me, man. I have always hated how that car plowed in turns. Too much factory understeer.

Over the past two weeks, my essentially stock car with 21K miles (minus of course the oodles of electronics and Dynamat I had put in) has been transformed.

H&R Sport Springs
QA1 adjustable rear shocks
Steeda CC plates
Steeda bumpsteer kit
KB subframe connectors
Global west rear spring spacers (7/8")
H&R 1.4" rear wheel spacers
new 18" wheels
Continental Sport Contact 3 run flats 245/40ZR18

After I spent a ton of money on everything but the sway bar, I was happy, but still had a little too much push, though better than stock was, and still rode too soft in the back. So, I just happened to be looking at sway bars on jegs.com, and saw this lil add on bar for cheap, and adjustable is always good.

I have really noticed the stiffer rear suspension due to the effective spring rate increase by the added sway bar, so I could back off the shock settings a bit. It still rides nice though.

I also have noticed that my understeer is almost gone, in fact I am on the ragged edge of power oversteer, and just may have some throttle off oversteer in rain. Don't know, hasn't rained yet. Will test it carefully!

In the dry, throttle off in a turn it bites nice, but throttle on, it just squats and laser points! Best $180 with install I have seen! It's how the factory model should have come out.

Next stop, coilovers for the front!

Get a OEM Cobra, Steeda, Or Eibach Rear bar to replace the GT bar.... You will notice even more of a difference.

OEM Cobra, Steeda, and Eibach rear bars are all the same thickness
