Got the Steeda Axlebacks (made by Borla) installed last week, but finally got around to getting a couple sound clips. The vid quality is not great, but the sound is pretty darn close.

One from the Inside:

ENJOY!

No, it sounds great. It's always hard to tell exhaust sounds in clips tho because it's so dependent on the output devices, speakers, bass levels, etc.

That being said a friend of mine put a Borla exhaust on his 2010 GT (I can't remember the name of the model, the one just under the ATAK) and the sound difference is amazing. I'm not sure how the Steeda made by Borla would differ.

Have you taken it out at highway speeds? I had a 2001 GT with a Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust and while I love it in town, highway travel was very annoying because of the drone around 2k RPMs.

If you have better than average speakers and a sub woofer, the sound is pretty close to what they really sound like.

In terms of "how they differ", I listened to all three sound clips by Borla on the different systems on You Tube. The Steedas sound different than all 3 of them.

That sounds great! If I ever decide to replace my Magnaflow's, Steeda would be the next on my list.

Hahahahaha, roll down main street slowly with the windows down with that blaring through your car speakers and rev the engine every so often. You might get pulled over for racing yourself!

Well I've been searching for info on the Steeda axle back and I found your post. On the PC I like the Steeda (1st), the FRPP Sport (2nd) and the GT500 SVT (3rd). These three seam to have a deeper sound then most without supposedly having no drone. Since you now have had them for a couple of months..what are your thoughts. Drone level? By chance do you have any sound clips while driving? If possible any sound clips indicating the RPM? I've heard the FRPP Sport (@4-4500rpm gets loud and a higher raspy pitch) and GT500SVT (which I'm not sure is loud enogh) at the local Ford SVT dealer in Brandon/Tampa. Thanks.

That does sound amazing for only an axleback system, deep and smooth.
That will penetrate the neighbors walls.....

IT DOES!

kbmag: PM sent. For others interested, Steeda is changing their exhaust maker from Borla to Kooks. I heard a car with it..it is pretty much the same "TONE" but a little quieter, and they claim NO drone at all. I have a slight drone at 2000RPM, but now that I put gears in it (373), the drone at hwy speeds are gone, since 75-80 cruising puts the car at about 2500 RPM (quiet as stock).
