Steeda bump steer kit & X2 ball joints. Finally installed!!! Pics

I am getting ready to install a a steeda bump steer kit, X2 ball joints, & prothane poly end link bushings tommorrow. With the mods in my sig, how much am I gonna notice the difference after I install these. At this point my suspension & steering feels pretty good, and the handling is pretty decent, but I am hoping this will give me better steering response and cure some, or hopefully most of the bumpsteer. And also if anyone knows a reputable alignment shop in the Sacramento, California area that will know what to do when I bring my car in for an alignment. Or are the bumpsteer kits easy enough for any shop to work with. Most of the regular alignment shops hate doing lowered cars, and they wont set my camber & caster settings to the specs I want.

Nothing much really,a little more predictable steering mid turn, but you would notice a bigger difference with alum rack bushings.

How about going over bumps though? Will my steering wheel stay more straight. Thats the main thing I hated after I lowered my car. Do u mean offset aluminum rack bushings, or regular ones?

yes, it will stay more straight. Even though the steering wheel still might shake a bit over bumps, the car will not change directions like it used to.

So I finally installed these 2day. It wasn't as easy as I thought it was gonna be, but it wasn't that hard either. Certain things are just a b--ch when you dont have a lift or all the right tools. Getting the old ball joints out probably took the longest. Luckily I had my freind who is a tech for dodge helping me out. Here are a few pics during the install...

Now about the handling. Even though the toe & alignment are way off right now, I could still tell a difference in bumpsteer from b4. Right now the steering wheel is off to the right, but on the drive home it felt alot better goin over bumps. You of course could still feel the bumps, but the car didn't want to jerk or pull left or right anymore, or as bad as b4. I could tell the toe was way off though, so the real answer will be after the alignment. Luckily I can drive my Jetta all week till I find a good alignment shop. On another note, I think I still need offset rack bushings, because the tie rods still arent level.

One cool option with the X2 balljoints is the inserts that it comes with. You can leave them out & it will lower your front end another 1/2 inch, but it wont correct the geometry on a lowered vehicle, which is the whole purpose of the X2's. Beleive me I was tempted to leave them out, but I bought the X2's for a reason, so i left them in.

I put the X2s in last summer and honestly noticed zero difference, even though the stock ones were beat to hell and back.

Tie rod ends hard to replace? I might try to do that later this week (vacation).

sorry to bring back the old thread, but I am doin the same setup because I cant take the car pulling right & left after the lowering, just wondering how is ur ride after alighment ?

The difference was noticeble. When I go over bumps the steering wheel still wants to pull left or right, but the car & front wheels stay straight. It is a good mod when your stang is lowered more than 1.5 inches....

Honestly, unless you know your car well, u wont notice a difference, but the car doesnt want to pull as much when going over bumps. It definately feels better when braking over bumps.... It fixes the geometry alot, but once your car is lowered past 1.8 inches, the geometry is beyond its limits...
