Steeda Cold Air

Update, dyno results are now in..For anyone who may be interested, I have the long awaited independent test results, for the Steeda CAI, from Brenspeed..In addition, you'll also notice that Brent performed, a side by side comparison, with the C&L street CAI, and according to the results, both systems were nearly identical in both HP. and Torque numbers..Anyhow, I hope everyone may find the test results, helpful and perhaps useful, in someway... Here are your test results.

C&L Street Intake

300.07 HP/310.28 Torque

Steeda 90mm

297.60 HP/309.7 Torque

The test was performed by making 3 pulls with each air intake. The numbers above are the average of the 3 pulls.

The steeda worked great but fell short above 5,000 rpm’s, most likely due to the lack of aftermarket inlet pipe.

Thank you for the info. However i am confused by the numbers posted. This does not appear to be a power gain over stock. Maybe i am wrong but i thought the stock 4.6L created very close to 300HP out of the box. Am I mistaken?

As ProMod stated, the Mustang's stock 300HP. is rated at the crank, and not at the rear wheels.. The actual rear wheel HP. is around 265 stock..The numbers that were posted, are rear wheel numbers.. So yes, there is a significant gain over stock..Anyway, it's not that you were mistaken, but seems more like, you were just mis-informed..

Is this with a chip also or with just the intake itself using the stock program?
I'm sure that your well aware, that the C&L and Steeda cold air intakes, do require tuning...Just as you're Tunable Induction CAI, also requires tuning..Therefore, you cannot run the stock program, with these type of intake systems..However, in fairness to both C&L and Steeda, Brenspeed did just a baseline tune, for testing purposes only..Anyway, I hope this provides the answer, you were looking for..
