Steeda High Flow Inlet Elbow

I have a 2006 Mustang GT and finally got my XCAL II working
correctly with the Steeda CAI. I now see that Steeda is offering
a new High Flow Inlet Elbow to complement the CAI. Just wondering
if anyone has tried the Elbow out yet.

i have the new inlet tube and took all of 20 min. to install.with the tune it seems to respond better than before.i have got the auto gt.little more noise, which is a good thing!i'll snap some pics and post.

I am seriously considering the Steeda CAI/SCT XCAL II tune soon after I get my new GT here. Although it might have to wait for Santa to bring it. They say good things about it and would love to here any comparisons if anyone has had different ones to compare with.

I've had my inlet tube about a month now and it does provide a very noticable difference, plus you can actually hear the air being sucked into the TB..I would guess that it's good for the additional 5-8 HP as claimed by Steeda..However, I do plan on at least getting my A/F checked just to be on the safe side..

if you have the ford kit you have the 90 mm kit. thats what the steeda kit is.it works very well

hey Darkfire ? after reading you're signature, I happen to notice you already have the Steeda high velocity CAI..Anyway, the new inlet elbow is designed and engineered specifically for both the Steeda and FRPP high velocity CAI's by Steeda as an upgrade..All you need to do is go to the Steeda website and purchase it directly from there..www.steeda.com

I guess I didn't make my post clear, but thanks. I was stating that I had been looking for something to go with it, and that would be great. I'm curious of any power gains, since I already have the cai.

Steeda is claiming the lowest gains they've seen are 8 rwhp and 8 rwtq. I
think I'm gonna order mine today.

With the hard plastic inlet tubes, don't you have to be concerned about
stressing the MAF sensor wires?

The MAF is mounted to the billet aluminum housing, so the answer is No it won't cause any stress to the MAF sensor wiring..As I mentioned in an earlier post, Steeda designed and engineered the new plastic inlet tube, specifically for their high velocity CAI as an upgrade..Therefore, you have nothing to worry about

So describe what you mean as something to go with it ?? that's the only part of your post that isn't very clear.. Although you already have the CAI, your still using the stock rubber intake tube which is still somewhat of an air restriction..The new inlet elbow will provide an additional 5-8 HP because it's a straight flow through design, that has no bends and ridges to slow airflow down like the stock rubber tube does..Anyway, hope this helps out..

I'm sorry. I talk on the phone all day at work, and I'm finding it harder and harder to create a sentance that makes sense. I guess it's from talking to morons all day.

Anyways, what I meant (again lol) is that until this post, I had been looking for something to take the place of the stock intake tube. And this definitely looks like a viable option, I was just interested in whether any horsepower gains would be at all noticeable, or whether it's more of a show piece, to get rid of that ugly ribbed tube. Obviously it's smoother, I was just curious. I've got the idea now, though.

look at my pics and you'll see it.if there is hp gain, i can't really feel it.it does give it a better sound,and the whole set up does do away with most of the lag.mines also an auto. i'm sure the inlet gives you pretty close to what they say.it is the same as fords and a lot cheaper.i have the diablo 93 tune on mine and it's a good match as there made for each other.

I know exactly what you mean when it comes to dealing with morons all day lol. Anyway to answer your question, Steeda claims that the new inlet tube provided an additional 8 HP following their test results..I suppose the only real way to find out for sure is getting your car dyno tested but it seems to make sense that you should see between a 5-8 HP gain being their is no longer any type of air restrictions involved but on the other hand, if your expecting to feel a large difference ?? a 5-8 HP gain isn't really quite large enough to the point where your actually going to feel it..However, just knowing that my engine's air intake is now flowing completely free is well worth the additional expense for getting the inlet elbow and I can tell you this for sure..Anything is a major improvement over that ugly ribbed tube, which I'm sure was a huge part of chocking off air-flow..

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't fit JT ? From what I know about the Steeda inlet elbow is it starts out as a 4 inch dia. then becomes either 3.5 or 3 inches at the throttle body plus you also have your silicone hoses w/clamps that should fit perfectly around the C&L maf housing..In fact, when I first saw the inlet elbow the first thing that it reminded me of is.. it looks very identical to the C&L racer intake only less expensive..Anyway hope this helps out somewhat..

I am about to get a CAI and this is interesting. I have checked out all of the systems and I have narrowed it down to the JLT and the C&L. It seems to me that the Steeda with the elbow for 379.00 is the same system you would get from JLT for 199.00 (they have the CAI and the Xcalibrator 2 on their site for 555.00). Any thoughts?
