hey, a buddy of mine has a 2001 GT 5 speed with a cold air intake and throttle body and an SLP xpipe WITH cats, which pullies should he go with, the SLP or Steeda ones, also what should he expect to gain

leave it alone a pully change can end up in a broken oil pump gear and a runed motor. not worth the gains. better off going to an electric water pump instead.

Get ASP they are the best. Thats what I run
.06 to .08 It seams I picked up and easy .1 with my car but keep in mind mine is a light weight.

Steeda Pullies are the best. Steeda is the industry standard for 4.6L Pullies.

I speak for experience, I've had them for 2 years and 40,000 miles.

Steeda Pullies here. Had mine for about 6 months. No problems whatsoever.

Don't know about this broken oil pump stuff.

Not sure but I think this might be the same guy that said his camshaft position sensor was mounted down near the balancer.

Anyhow, I have the Steeda pullies and you can't go wrong with them. They are not piggy-back style which is a plus to me. You can easily find a set of used ones for about $100. You have to remove them if you get a supercharger and you'll see them on the Corral Classifieds, etc. from cars that have recently been supercharged. Thats where I got mine.

Actually, now that I think about it I remember a thread about broken pump gears and U/D pulleys. It had something to do with harmonics or vibration that was different with the smaller crank pulley and caused the gears to crack. No joking. Maybe its true, maybe its BS.

It took awhile, but now I know what the guy is referring to.
