i was on steeda's site looking at hoods and i am interested in part #307 0099 the steeda r hood for 99-04's...my question is do you neeed hood pins for this hood, it does say that it uses existing hood hinges and latch, i thought id ask whoever has the hood about this and also how is the fit and if you have had any problems with it.
thanks.

ive had it for 3 1/2 years. the hood is quality and fitment is great. no problems what so ever. steeda recomends hood pins, they are kind of like ins.

anything can happen. the hood is lighter then stock, and it does have a latch.

however, the latch is set in the fiberglass. this means that after repeated slamming i assume the latch could break away from the fiberglass. this is only a maybe. it uses the existing latch so there is the safty even if things come loose but i have heard of aftermarket hoods comming up cause alot of damage.

ive been driving mine for a while always opeaning and closing for all the work i have done. no hood pins.

however i do think i am going to install a set for ins. just incase. i have had the frpp pins sitting in my room for a year. i just like the hood with out them better. better safe then sorry though.
