i just put in my triax shifter. i got it used but its like new. it didnt come with the handle so i used my stock handle.....well i can definitley shift way faster but the throw seems bearly shorter......is this because of the stock handle?
yes.. lol... obviously. And if you kept the rubber bushing on the stock handle that'll create a little sloppiness. There are two settings on the tri-ax handle.. i have mine on the lowest setting all the time cuase the other height seems too long, and it's shorter than the stock handle still!
Yes, leverage is the key in an aftermarket shifter. That's why all the aftermarket shifters have shorter handles. Ever drive a truck with a manual? The shifts are long because the handle is long. If you have shifted you Mustang with the handle off, you will see that it's very short, not to mention hard to do.
