I have a steeda timing adjustor installed and set at 15, and have a set of steeda underdrive pullies being shipped, I was just wondering which of the 2 people saw more SOTP gains out of.

Both IMO,
But SOTP feel the Pulleys got me going?
Althought the T/A made a SOTP feel too so who knows!

i would say i felt more of an increase with advanced timing than i did with the pulleys. i mean both are miniscule, but all pulleys seemed to do was to let the engine drop rpm a little quicker. to me anyway.

T/A pulleys are crap. the stock pulleys on a 4.6 make very little drag anyways, and you will probably gain 2-3 hp. in my opinion thats weak.

i trap 104 with just t/a,cai,x pipe, catback, and gears, thats what most people with every mod trap.

and to those of you who say pulleys are a proven mod. find someone who has proven them on a 4.6, they are proven on a 5.o, because those had lots of parasitic drag. pulleys for 4.6s are a hoax.

Huh?
Anyway it's a mod you need to do to find out!
Just do this look around in people sig. and see Most guys do it and if it was a bad Mod then I would think by noiw we would all know it!
I say since you have the T/A already Go For It with the Pulleys and you will see. I'm Just some guy who says It's a basic good mod....
But Hey we all have our own taste...

i had pulleys on my 98, and then didnt do a thing.

like you just said, you saw them in everyones sig, so you got them. think of how many other people have done that, and now look at why everyone has them. they are a 2-3 hp gain, and definitly not worth the money.

the same goes for Mafs, and TBs-yes even with plenums.
if you would like to have 8 more hp overall, from all of these worthless mods, go for it, but it is going to put you -800 dollars in the hole.

if people would stop buying useless mods, their cars would be much faster.
i am the one of the true street tired(non-dr) n/a no internal(headwork, cams, stockblock) cars in the southeast.
i think i know what i am talking about.

i kinda agree with jsguy. kinda. pulleys are a nice mod to me, but i think they are just way too expensive. i think they would be better recieved if they were only like 90 bucks or something.

Whatever I don't feel like posting all the Hp gains in MAF's and T/B and Plenums..
I notice a HUGHE diffrence with the Plenum and T/B and Pulleys.
I too know what I'm talking about and I'm done trying to explain to you,So that being said do what you like I know My mods were highly thought out and all were well worth the $$
Nothings wrong with Just another guy That's your his option, But speaking from Someone who has them on a 2003 4.6 I notice a gain.
I also don't think people who put T/B's and Plenums and CAI and all the other mod's are wasiting our money after all we all can't put new heads on and cams and chargers after all some of us use our cars as daily drivers also.
We all love the mods we do in hte garge on the weekend and sometimes low buck mods can really pay off, After all MM&FF did a article showing how a T/B and Plenum combo can release some extra HP and RWHP and after all we all want more!!

1. if you believe ANYTHING written in MM&FF, you help me to prove my point, that many mods are BS. just like they got 10rwhp from porting a STOCK plenum; and when they did a bolt on test, and said they got more HP from a catback than a mid pipe
2. i did not say upper intakes plenums arent a good mod. I have one. i gained 1.2 mph with it, that is a good mod.
3. ya, dont waste your time posting all the gains with mafs, tbs, or what not; because there arent any. i bet you think a hypertech power programmer is a good mod too?
4. the SOTP you felt, from the pulleys plenum and TB mainly came from the plenum. it is documented, the plenum is worth in the neighborhood of 8-10hp. and a couple more with the TB.
5. i would not pay 150 dollars or so, for a mod that gives me 3 hp. thats $50/hp. thats a little steep for my wallet. i dont have money for a charger, or headwork or cams, and i do ALL of my own work, so i pick mods that will give a decent gain, at an acceptable price. a plenum is $200 or so, and you gain appr. 10hp, thats $20/hp. that is a good gain. same goes for x pipe, timing adjuster.

i had it set at 16*, then i set it down to 14.5 or so and i gained 1 mph without any other changes. havent messed with it since.

ps. all of my mods and runs are well documented with over 100 1/4 passes in my car.

i ran 13.9 at 101 with just x pipe, catback, cai and timing adjuster.
then i got a shifter learned how to drive better,
ran a 13.52 at 102
added 4.10 gears and cnl plenum
ran 13.770
learned how to drive the car again.
ran 13.23 at 103(every run is on stock tires up until this point)
added nitto drag radials...
13.15, 13.16 ....at 103.3-.7

only weight reduction is jack/spare, every run with 1/4 tank
and only suspension mod is removed sway bar.

My pullies and T/A (set to 15*) gained me less than 1 RWHP and 3 RWTQ on the dyno. Throttle response is definately better, but the cost vs. gains are just not worth it IMHO. If i would have known this in advance, I woulda pu the money in to something more worthwhile, like my supercharger fund!!!

I had the pullies on my 01 and noticed a very slight difference. My rwhp was 243 and torque was 280 with the pullies and weld in Dynomax mufflers so I got a few horsepower somewhere or had a stronger factory car. Then again I developed an oil leak from the crank seal and the wouldnt fix it under warranty because of the pullies. Keep that in mind too.

Whooptie doo! I'm trapping 103 with just an o/r X and welded in packs.

I completely agree, pullies are worth very little if anything on our cars. If I was to do it over again, I would waste my money or time on them. I felt no difference with them and they were my first mod.
