Let me ask this...would I be better off selling my pulleys (brand new, sitting on the kitchen table) and getting gears or a shifter? Sounds like pulleys are worthless on my 03, so I'd rather get something better. Seems as if gears and shifter are approx. same $$. Which would you suggest I get first?

i have a timing adjuster and pullies on my 03 gt. i did them kinda around the same time and i could tell a difference. i think they were worth the money. they are the only thing i have on my car right now and i have a dyno sheet with those mods. the link is in my signature.

The timing adjuster could be giving you the extra power. I don't know for sure about the pulleys, but it seems like before I bought them everyone said they were a good mod, and now that I have them (not installed yet) everyone is saying they are not worth it on newer GT's.

i always said they sucked =P
thats why i dont have them on my car.

when i had my car dynoed, i put down 256/296 std, which is like 246/280 sae with just timing adjuster, o/r x and catback. id attribute the t.a to some of that.

could be true. but i did both of them at the same time so i couldn't really tell if one gave the power over the other. either way i'm happy with them and would suggest them to people. unless they have a chip, no need for timing adjuster. or if they are planning on a supercharger, then no need for the pullies.

id rather be able to manually adjust my timing whenever i want, rather than have to run 93 octane all the time.

on a long trip home i can pull timing and run 87 octane. chips are only good if they are dyno tuned, and a T/A again, is a better gain for the $$$

with a chip you can have multiple tunes, like on the diablosport chip. not sure on the others. but it has a switch that you can flip, this way you can change tunes while cruising down the road. that way you could have your "performance" tune and then you could have your "mileage" tune. just a flip of the switch and you can go between no advanced timing to advanced timing.

you ever run a diablochip off the shelf? i know many people that have, since they are based in sfla, and trust me, I WOULD NOT ever use that.

not to mention the only real gain you get from off the shelf chips is from bumped timing anyway. why not give the car owner complete control for 1/3 of the price.

i love my chip much better value for me than a T/A. Plus you can pull the chip easy enough if you are going on long trips.
My speedo is corrected, rear mils off, timing is bumped. Right off of the shelf my car picked up. I went from low 13.5s to mid 13.2s consistently

well that is why when you get your chip, you make sure that the tuner doesn't get one of the off the shelf tunes from diablosport. all it requires is a simple email to the tech support or a phone call and they give the diablosport guys the specs on the car with all the mods listed and diablosport will send the tuner the tune specific to that car.

I feel sorry for you guys....I had a very noticable gain with pullies then I bumped the timing and got more. I'm lovin' my setup. Worth every penny to me.
