Steering column help

I just started putting my column back together after ripping out the brake pedal support (ie. new brake booster) to replace the bushings. It has been about a year since I started this because of my wife's car. My memory is a little foggy. I am down to putting the wheel back on, but I get the feeling something is missing :D . I am looking at the steering shaft where it comes through the turn signal switch. I have a spring that goes there. The shaft is about 3/4 OD, and the bearing just behind the turn switch is about an inch ID. The shaft is just flopping around inside of the big bearing. Seems like there was something that fit over the shaft and inside of the big bearing. I have went through where I thought I left all of the steering parts but nothing looks familiar. Please help for I am suffering from CRS.

There is a sleeve that goes in place under the spring. It is thin and round and it slides between the turnsignal switch and bearing in the column. After you find the sleeve and install it, make sure that your steering column is pulled far enough towards you so that there is no play in the steering wheel.
