Hi everyone, i havent been on this site in a while and i desperately need some help. I am selling my 1992 mustang. I have been fixing all the problems. I had to replace the clock spring. I bought a new one from ford. Then as i'm reading the instruction sheet it mentions that i hAVE TO USE a new mounting plate, which ford tells me is no longer available. Why do you have to use a new plate? Was it redesigned? Or, is it cause the screws are self taping and the old mounting plate is wore out? Thats my first issue.
Next, my column is not straight, it's cocked towards the drivers door a little. I have tried to adjust it but it still wont center. I don't know how it got that way.
Lastly, when i install the steering wheel, the wheel won't press on all the way towards the shroud, and it does not cover up the clock spring. I am pretty sure i have the wheel on straight, cause the shaft and wheel are marked. Anyone have any ideas??
thanx
