My 93 has an issue with the steering column clearance and the wraparound trim ring. For some reason, I'm unable to get an OEM trim ring to mount properly. It will in no way to line up. The long screw guides/attachment fingers will not mate together. The steel, round plate just outside the center shaft is in the way. It seems that my column is almost to far "in" towards the firewall. There just is not enough "fromt to back or in/out" space for that wide trim ring to fit properly. I needed to trim the crap out of it. Is it possible that I have a column from a different year and that the issue? Im not sure. Maybe the columns are different depending on the year?
