Steering Column

Is there a HOW-TO section someplace about replacing a steering column with a tilt column assembly?? I bought a tilt column with keys so I won't have the headache with the ignition switch

Well it depends on which year you have, air bag or not, but its a sinple case of disconnecting all the wires in the old, unbolting it from, the dash and removing the steering coupler from the bottom of the column.

Depending on the year there may be some wiring issues but thats the hardware part of the install.

I did this on my 82 Capri, the column I got was from an 86,

The column assembly and steering wheel are airbag free, my car is an 88 and I believe the used column is out of a 89 GT.

it should be straight forward then. Unbolt it disconnect the wiring harness and upbolt the steering linkage. an hour tops.
