Anyone ever install these to keep the inside of the wheel from rubbing the control arm? They install on the rack shaft under the bellows to limit the turning radius. Bought them from 50 Resto.

Every rack is supposed to have them installed. I know for a fact that they do what they are supposed to do. The Ford part number is N804842-S washer. They come in a package of 4.

Thanks! There were no instructions w/ them. Since they are designed w/ a notch cut into them, they go on the outside of the rack between the inner tie rod where the shaft comes out of the housing. Is that correct? This is not an internal install is it?

Thanks for the help!

Just did a quick search......

My OEM rack came with 1 installed on each side and I just added another to each side to stop the wheel from rubbing on the A-arms.

Part 21 in the second pic should give you everything you need. The longest and hardest part of installing the limiters is jacking up the car.
I think I installed mine in less than 10 mins

I dont think they came stock until they introduced Pony Wheels. Anyways, I always recommend them to people with rubbing issues, I put the extra pair on mine when I did my SN95 brake conversion.

All I can say is my car is an 89 and when I opened the bellows to install the limiters after doing the 5 lug swap is was easy to see where they went because there were some already installed from the factory in the rack . I know that they were installed from the factory because I'm the original owner of the car and the steering rack has never been replaced or opened until I opened up the bellows.
The diagram below the pic I posted earlier is from the 89 Ford shop manual and it clearly shows the Travel Restrictors Part# 21.
Pony wheels didn't come out until what 90 when Ford went to the 16" wheels?

The exact same diagram is in my 92 Ford Service Manual, for some reason I thought they didnt start putting them on cars until 90 or unless a Customer complained of tire rub. I have been recommending these for a long time to fellow stangers and am somewhat suprized at the resposes like these never existed!

I ordered a bag yesterday at OC Welch. Nice that they are open until 130 on Sat for parts and service.

Got my F150 cruise control deactivation switch two weeks ago Sat morning.

Also got the pass side power lock switch for my 89 LX. Took 2 minutes to install and fixed the locks!

I am on a roll here! Puttin the long rocker arm studs in my AFR 185's too!

I know this is an old one but thought I would though my 2c in. I have an 84 with sn95 front and rear sup and 2011 svt 10" wheels . I had to use 3/8 spacers up front and I made my limiters out of a nylon pipe joint. Cost 1.99 took 5 min to cut them and put them in. Sure beat the 15.99 for 2 on ebay.
