Since the steering wheel leather on my Cobra is shot I am ordering a new wheel.
I have never replace an air bag wheel before, do I need special tools or will a standad NAPA wheel puller do it. Also do I unplug the battery so the bag does not pop when I unplug the wire harness?

Its easy, but the autozone puller i tried didn't work well and i borrowed my friends puller he uses at his dealership...other then that its cake.
and definately unhook the neg on the battery first.

why not just put a cover over it?

From the pictures the FR500 wheel looks the exact same as the stocker except it says cobra and its a little thicker...just seems like a lot of money for minimal gains...

I am not putting a FR500 on it. The wheels leather is all ripped apart and I dont want to band-aid it, besides I dont like covers. I am replacing it with another tan leather wheel from a wrecked Cobra.

I would say thats your best bet.. just get another stock one.. i got the FR500 and sold it 3 weeks later.. i didnt like how thick it was and it didnt feel right.. iam werid i know..
Taking off the wheel isnt very hard at all.. just take your time, and you'll be fine..:nice:
