Hey guys, I'm having problems removing my steering wheel on my 03 mustang. I purchased a steering wheel puller and it seems I've already stripped the 2 holes to insert the screws (I'm kinda new to this mechanic work). I'm trying to install a quick release so I don't care if I damage the stock steering wheel trying to get it out but I don't want to resort to that just yet. Any ideas?

Are you sure that the center bolt and washer has been removed before attaching the puller?

Have you sprayed any oil between the shaft and steering wheel splines?

Can you post pictures? I can't image a situation where the correct steering wheel puller can't do the trick.

When the puller is tighten, the 2 blots began to bent and come out of the holes

Make sure the puller does not have the big end on it. it wont fit thru know what I mean look at the bolt where it hits the wheel assembly
