Steering Wheel Play

I have a 1994 Mustang GT with power steering. I have about 10 degrees of play in the steering wheel with the engine running. There is no play in the steering shafts and the input shaft in the rack. The play is internal to the rack. Is that normal?

I might check inner tie rods.

I replaced the inner tie rod ends a few months ago with no impact on reducing steering play.

Did you note any play in the rack gears while doing the tie-rod swap?
