Steeroids Rack & Pinion???

I searched, but couldn't find where the Steeroids R&P for our cars had gone to market, and how the product turned out. There was a very long thread detailing how it was developed, but so far I don't know what people who bought it think of it.

Anyone know?

Has anyone actually installed (Power) Steeroids yet? I have an order that is set to ship late in January. Can't find anything on the forums about these except potential header issues and possible decreased turning radius. Still on the stock 302 and if I wanted low turning radius I'd be in a Mini Cooper, so I'm still inclined to go with Steeroids and I've got PS on a '70 convertible. Any opinions or has anyone done this yet?

I still haven't found anyone who has actually installed one in their classic Mustang. I'm not concerned about losing a little bit of turning radius, either...I"ll sacrifice that to get 2.5 turns lock to lock, rather thant the 4 I'm "enjoying" now. On the Steeroids website is a list of headers which work with the kit.

if you are concerned about turning radius, check out www.randallsrack.com everyone that has used one of them says they are very well engineered and if there is any loss in radius they can't tell it. both the steeroids kit and randalls kit are quality pieces. both have pros and cons though, the steeroids kit uses heim joints for all the rod ends which i don't like for the street but they use a stock j car rack, randalls kit uses stock early or late model tie rods depending on which option you choose but the rack is a modified j car rack so replacement of the rack may be more difficult, however most towns have a shop that can rebuild them. personally i think i will be going with randalls unit, but the speed direct piece is definitely a very close second.

One of the things I like about the Steeroids kit is the rod ends are engineered to adjust for bumpsteer (which my car has like a mo'fugga since I lowered it). So rather than buy a kit, then have to buy a bumpsteer eliminator (like the Baer Tracker kit), the Steeroids kit is ready to go, just needs to be adjusted to fit the specific car.

That was my reason for ordering them too. That, and they actually advertised header clearance. I'll post a review when I get 'em in and on, hopefully by the end of January. Not that I have a lot to compare them with.

looking forward to that review, jb. R&P will likely be my next mod, once I have some bills paid off and hurricane shutters or impact glass installed on my house . Fortunately this last hurricane season didn't cause any damage for me, but it left me feeling pretty uneasy & vulnerable.
