Stereo is Shutting off

I'm having a weird problem where my stereo will turn on for a minute but I can't change the volume and then all displays on the unit disappear. I can tell it has power. This is a Pioneer Premier with 2 displays and it will close when the key is off. It will just stay open. At the same time my clock is all messed up. it's numbers aren't displaying correctly but it's on most of the time but not all fo the time. Everything else seems to be in working order. Before winter I did not have this problem.

I've heard that these cars have issues with the clock not working. Could that clock short out my stereo? I also did have problems with my amp shutting and not having bass. That is another thing I can try. Disconnecting the amp.
