The two speakers in the bottom of the passenger side and driver side doors of my car stopped working about two weeks ago. I ordered some new OEM speakers (Mach 460 system) to replace them thinking it was the speakers. I just got back from the dealership and plugged the new speaker in and nothing. All the other speakers work fine, (tweeter in at the top of the doors on both sides, and the tweeters / 6x9s in the back window). I checked the fuse for the stereo and it looks good (it would since the rest of the speakers are working). Any ideas what is causing the door speakers in both the driver and passenger side not to work? Thanks.

its one of the amps... of hand i dont recall which amp controls those speakers... but get into the trunk and look at the amps, see if any of the cables became unplugged. you can also use an allen key and remove the amps to see if you can pull them apart (i vaguely remembe tem having individual fuses)

there are either 3 or 4 amps in that rack. i know 2 of them power the front and rear 6x8s... i cant recall which is which... its easy to pull them all down, so do so one at a time and see. or trouble shoot it, unplug one amp, turn the stereo on.... see what speakers drop out. once you unplug an amp that doesnt change.. you know you have the culprit.

I see the two amps in the trunk. I removed the right hand side one and unplugged it, then turned the stereo on. Only the tweeters were coming through. I plugged it back in and the bass came back on but still no sound from the 6x8 in the doors. This is driving me nuts. I thought there are three amps total. Where is the third amp located? Are there any specific fuses I should be looking for? ( I have already checked the "sub woofer" fuse in the passenger fuse box and it was fine).

I pulled the headunit out and didn't see anything that looked like an amp, then again I am no stereo expert. I think it might be some wiring issue, since the back woofers work fine and the door ones don't. Besides, the door speakers stopped working about the same time. I was hoping for an easy fix, but I guess not. Any other ideas?

the amp is directly under the headunit

Maybe the amp that controls the speakers in the front is bad. At this point, I think I am going to put my car together since it looks like it's been robbed and call it a day. I'll just live with it I guess. :nonono:
