Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

Just wanted to send out a warning to anyone in need of a new water pump. I ordered a Stewart water pump, because it was the most affordable pump advertised as High Flow. I got it today, and it turns out it's just a stock water pump. I compared the impellar to an old stock one laying around, and it's absolutely identical. I have attached a picture of the Stewart Water pump on the right, and the high flow water pump I took off the car on the left. You can clearly see the difference. Stewart advertises that the pump has a bearing that is five times stronger than stock, but if they are willing to lie about it being high flow, I remain dubious about the bearing quality. The Stewart water pump comes with a one year guarantee. You can get a new water pump from Advance with a lifetime guarantee, and it's about the same price. My recommendation is, if you need a new water pump, you are better off buying the one from Advance and getting the lifetime guarantee.

all that shows is the backing plate. Outside of that, they look identical.

Summit sells a kit to add that plate to the pumps. But i agree, lifetime > 1 year warranty.

Good to know. Summit already has their pump back. I'm just going to throw the old one back on.
