im in the process of having a forged longblock built with the KB 2.6kit gonna run about 15-17lbs of boost...should i go with stage 2 or stage 3 heads/cams whats the pros and cons of both...the car is not a daily driver but i do drive it occasionally on nice days and it will see the track few times a yr...i would like to go for more power and torque...what do ya guys think?

thanks

From what I've read, Stage 3 is more of a track specific set up. If you like driveability on the road, and not just on the track, the stage 2 cams might be for you. Not too sure about the heads.

Funny you should ask that. I'm actually looking at the results of a stage 3 Livernois head project with their stage 1 cams. It's sort of lopey and it's a street car. The smooth idle is no longer there. Now, we have only started on the tune and it's making 500hp and we ran out of fuel at 5000 rpm due to a programming problem so we aren't even close on the tune yet. However, that wouldn't affect the idle so I'm thinking I may be living with it. I wouldn't want to go the stage 2 cam based on what I see now.

BTW, the horsepower increase with the vortech is insane. We are guessing with these new heads and this cam we may see an increase from 400rwhp to well over 550 rwhp on pump gas which will getting close to the limit of the blower. We also saw an increase of 4lbs of boost over the stock heads. Livernois rocks.
