I got a 88 mustang gt about 4 months ago and with all the holidays coming up i havent been wanting to spend to much money on it...but, im thinking to just sticking w/ the basics for now. my goal is to get my stang to become atleast a mid 12sec. daily driver. its already got headers & exhaust...but still has the fact. cats (those gotta go!)

Ive been thinking about puttin some new Mac shorty style headers, Mac off road h-pipe, fender mount cold air, 3:55 gears, 70mm throttle body & EGR, underdrive pulleys, maybe get rid of the smog pump (cuz FL. has no emissions anymore) and a lil bit more work.....oh yes! upgrading the braking power.

Plz leave me some feed back on what ya think.

Upgrade the exhaust (cats), put in 3.73 gears, remove the factory silencer in the fender and put a K&N panel filter in the stock box, bump the timing up to 14 btdc from 10, install weld-in subframe connectors. Those differences will make a difference you can feel, without impacting drivability. The shorty's won't help you any with a mostly stock engine. Niether will the throttle body. U/d's will add a few ponies, but many people experience charging and/or cooling problems with them - be careful. If you want a little more, contact tmoss on the boards. He can port your stock lower intake (the biggest flow restriction on the engine) and that will make a noticeable difference as well, again, with no downside.

Throw on some subframe connectors as well, they will tighten up the car nicely.

Save up for heads cam and intake.

Very nice stang by the way. I had a 92 LX that same color, I loved it.

intrc - good catch; I should add subframes to the 'basics' list. I'll edit.
