still got check eng light/vehicle not responding

Can you post some more info... from what your saying the CEL light is on all the time & the EEC is not responding.

Sounds like the EEC isn't grounded properly or has an internal short.

The computer primary power ground is one of the loose wires coming off the battery negative terminal that I would check for. It has a cylinderical quick connect about 1" diameter by 2 1/2" long.

Remove the passenger side kick panel and disconnect the computer wiring harness from the computer. There is a 10 mm bolt that hold the connecter in place. See http://fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=74 for more help




Use a DVM or Ohmmeter to measure the resistance between pins 40 & 60 and the ground connection by the computer. You should see less than 1 ohm.

Measure the resistance between the Self Test Input red/white wire (pin 48) and ground with the computer disconnected. You should see more than 1 megohm. If you see less than 10 ohms you have a wire shorted to ground that has put the computer into self test mode without your help.
