Stock 200GT......Sick Of Being Challenged

You can tell by my sig what the Stang looks like. Not much on performance but it looks awsome, therefore the fear factor, belive me, it works. Unless I get a real Steeda or Saleen aside of me, then I just wave. HeHe

You need to first figure out how much you are willing to spend. Hands down, a power adder is the best route! Bolt-ons may not be enough to beat lightly modded LS1s. Once you have a power adder, you'll be the one hunting down the LS1s :nice:

1250399 Cylinder-Head-and-Cam Package, 1997-03 LS1 485 HP

12504 Installation Kit, Head-and-Camshaft Package, 1997-03 LS1

199.95

He is right, that ****ing blows it must be the LS6 head and some special cams to make 485 hp. I wish we had something like that!!
Dang, anyone want to buy an 04 cobra or better yet trade for a WS-6 hehe

two words. POWER ADDER. Go with a supercharger. I have an 03 GT and I have invested 2500 bucks in it since october and I am not even close to getting a cupercharger yet. Had I known I was going to be spending this much this fast, I would have just saved my pennies and made a blower my first mod. Oh well, now when I do add it, My mods will help it greatly. And exhaust does scare them off. Had two guys in a Lightning (newer gen maybe 03) pull along side me and rev it up. I downshifted and let my BBK long tubes and O/R h pipe sing into my flowmaster am thunder catback so loud, they turned off and didnt think twice. I laughed knowing they woulda spanked me.

i wanted to say that the reason the ls1 can make so much power is the ci diff. 5.7 compared to a 4.6? 350 compared to a 281? hey if you want an engine swap go find a 351 from some junker ford rework it and modify the crap out of it and smoke some ls1 but. thats the reason that the ls1 can make more power that the 4.6.... a 351 and a 350 with same mods would be an even match.

you know what i would like to do? get a 4 valve 5.4 and drop it in. then see if the ls1 wants some. find a wrecked lightening. hell yeah. then maybe add a supercharger of course you would have to redo the suspension and drive train. but it would be a good experiment. that just goes back to the dissplacement thing again.

Nothing is going to scare off snot nosed kids that just want to play. I have a home-brew Saleen S281 with KB supercharger (with big tube kit) and these snot nosed kids in every kind of piece of junk still try to race me. It does get tiring. Even cops stop by to talk to me when I am parked at the local Jiffy-Mart. I too am older and have the car just for private fun and I can understand your frustration. I guess I didn't think it through well enough myself. The worst part is when a "real" car blows by you in heavy traffic and you know you can't race safely (racing and safety.... oxymoron, I know). This REALLY p1sses me off! Lame b@sturds! Oh well, the price of a good car. I will learn to live with it. :p

a supercharger is what i would get, it gives you power that is always there. but if you just want to burn people who challenge you just get a 100 shot. gears will deffinately help but may cost you gas mileage, id go with 373's. go ahead and get a chip and dyno tune when you think youre done with the mods.

Okay here's the deal. I am 37 years old and didn't buy this car because I wanted to race anyone. It seems like every Z28, Trans Am............and yes Taurus (I actually had an old man in a Taurus ask me if I wanted to go yesterday............it wasn't much of a run though, my 15 year old was cracking up) pull up next to me and want to go. Mainly it seems like it is Z28's and Trans Am's that will go out of their way to come after me.

What kind of quick, easy and inexpensive mods can be made to this car to just make it, shall we say, not an easy mark! I have had one person I know who owns a Trans Am tell me to put different gears in the rear end, a K&N injection performance kit, a cat-back flowmater system, and some of the pulleys and it will run a lot better, is this true? The car is an automatic so I am down a little to begin with. Does a performance chip make a difference, if there is one, and what kind of mods would you have to make to run a chip in it. Sorry if I sound like a novice, I am much more of a bike guy and when I have my FZ1 under me I can't find a single Trans Am, Z28, Corvette, or Cobra for that matter that feels like playing. 140hp on a 450lb package that runs 10.7 seconds stock is hard to deal with...................LOL

If I had unlimited funds I would love to put a 4 valve cobra engine in the car and leave all the GT markings on it. Then see how they feel afterward.

Dude a performance chip will definetly help since you have an automatic it can raise where your car shifts at giving you mad more power. Then your gunna wanna breathe more, which means intake and exhaust, probably get a MAF and catback exhaust, gears will make a definete improvement I would recommend 3.73's when you put those on you'll be like DAMN!!!!!!!!, pulleys will also help, probably 10-12 hp. You know what you want it's exactly what you said and Ive just told you that you want that SO GO GET IT MAN

I know exactly what you mean, but when you have a real muscle car the pretenders come crawling out of the wood work like a bunch of cockroaches, all hoping to boost their self esteem because they were hoodwinked into buying a wanna be muscle car. I don't have problems with Corvettes, Z-28s or Trans Ams because they already know what they have. It's the turbocharged Accuras, Neons, Maximas, Grand Ams and the like that want to prove that their $10,000 upgrades weren't a complete waste of money. That is all just the nature of driving a fast car... :D

If you want to beat other real muscle cars, get a turbo and you'll be the one :rlaugh:

The bottom line is how much do you want to spend to be faster because if you spend enough money on it, you can even make your average minivan fast, but you can never make a muscle car out of something that isn't... :nice:

If u modify your car, espiecially after exhaust i noticed the rice burners go away.

no, there's always a crackhead out there. i had a guy in a honda pull up next to me and yell "your mustang ain't got sh1t... we got V-TEC baby!" but yeah you're right, he prolly only did that cuz he knew i was in the left turn lane :rlaugh:

Here ya go:
http://www.modularfordpowerhouse.com/products.php?id=32

There's a guy on here named DeadLurker, his car was basically stock when he put the blower on. This is right off Tim's website:

Mods:
-Cobra Killer Kit
-Bassani X pipe (w/cats)
-Bassani Catback
-Steeda Tri-Ax
-MM Full Length Subframes

Dyno Numbers:
363RWHP 362RWTQ SAE

My before dyno numbers were 240RWHP and 279RWTQ SAE

Which for me translates into a gain of +123RWHP +83RWTQ SAE just from the Cobra Killer Kit.
