I have just recently joined stangnet and dont know how to post on the forums yet but i have a question. I recently ran aross a 302 out of a 83 F-100 2wd it is a very strong motor with plenty of torque but i want to know what the biggest cam that i can put into a 302 is without having to get a stall converter or change the heads...

x's 2 if you want an accurate answer, be VERY specific. if you want something that sounds good for cruising or whatever, say so. dont blow smoke, just tell us like it is...

WOW! honesty... nice, well... i imagine you dont want to put a bunch of money into it, with that in mind i think i would get a summit cam kit, maybe the SUM-K3600 it is a hydraulic flat tappet cam and lifter set, with enough duration to give a nice sound, a split lift pattern to help the exhaust (typically weak on SBF's) and should make power in the lower RPM's plus you shouldnt need to upgrade springs (if yours are not wore out). i think it is like $89.00 plus gaskets.

no problem man, this cam is small, and should work with all stock stuff including 2bbl carb.(if you still have one on it).
