I have a 91 5.0 and I was wanting to know the stock wheel HP. I know the craink HO is "supposed" to be 225HP and 300 tg. I am about to stroke to a 347 with a powerdyne super. I just wanted to know the baseline so i can compare. I just dont have it in me to pay for a dyno for stock results. I have just gotten my last part so I can start the build. I will ask if I run into any problems. Thanks.

I've seen a bone stock 5.0, dyno at I think around 186hp and between 250 to 275 for the torque, that's bone stock, all 4 cats, stock air box/filter and all smog equipment etc etc.

My bone stock, 19,000-mile 93 Saleen spun a Dynojet to the tune of 200 rwhp and 275 rwt.

A friend ran his on the same machine the same day and did 198/272.

The generally accepted number is 190 rwhp.

Wythors - your 'stock' Saleen has at least a K&N filter and a cat-back exhaust system, which could easily explain your excellent 200 rwhp #!

Stock Fox Body 5.0's average about 195-200rwhp and 265-270rwtq. The SN95's come in with slightly less at 190-195rwhp and 260-265rwtq due to the more restrictive Thunderbird intake manifold.

At the time of that pull, it had a stock filter with the silencer removed and a clapped out pair of Flowmasters welded into the half-rotted out stock pipes. Minor adjustments have been made since. My buddy Bill's car that pulled the other number is stock down to the orginal mufflers.

You also need to consider the age of the car. A 186K mile stock 5.0 burning oil with compression test numbers all over the map may not quite make 190 rwHP.

That's roughly equal to 215hp and 309lbft at the crank. Very good torque number for a stock engine.
