STOCK 65mm throttle body??

I found someone selling a stock EGR SPACER from a '90-93, he claims that it's 65mm . . . is this true? I thought these cars had 60mm throttle bodies; I just need something cheap to work w/ an explorer intake and TB.

The stock TB off of my '92 is 60MM.

WAAIIIT a minute . . . lol . . . I misposted. What I meant to say was that he posted his EGR SPACER as being 65mm . . . that's the part that I need to run with my exploder intake and TB.

i cant imagine that ford wouldve went with a 60mm tb and a 65mm egr. i would pass on that

Well, if we're going to split hairs here...

I just measured my stock TB at 61MM and the spacer at 63.5MM.

The factory EGR spacer actually doesn't have a perfectly cylindrical bore- it has a slight taper and is slightly off axis. I only know this because when I used to work as a machinist, I tried to hog one out on a CNC mill. SO with that in mind, he could have measured the "big" end and rounded up.

I've also read that in factory applications, the TB is always slightly smaller than the EGR spacer. Its not uncommon to measure a factory TB and EGR spacer and find that the EGR spacer is a couple mm larger (60mm TB with a 62mm EGR).

And to set the record straight, the '86 had a 58mm TB, and the '87+ cars had 60mm TBs. '93 Cobras and late-90s Explorers have 65mm units, but I don't think they are the same.

Just buy a 65 and be done with it. It runs so much better.

The explorer comes with a 65mm TB, so i'd imagine the EGR spacer would be at least that big.

I believe that the Explorer spacer is similar to the 94-95s (with the elbow) but I'm not sure, my intake doesn't have the TB with it. I just ordered a 94-95 70mm MAF, so I think I may as well go with a 70 mm TB to keep thinks even (at least on that side, I've heard that the explorer intake has something like a 68mm opening, so I guess I'll have to port-match it).

Thanks for all the input guys, I guess I'm going aftermarket anyways; I have questions about some TBs I've been looking at, but I'll start a new thread for that.
