curb weight is 3180

Huh? Ford lists the dry weight of a GTS as 3245#. Mine weighed in at 3260# including the spare, jack, etc (i.e. in showroom floor trim). The only mod was a SS Bassani catback and it had 2.5 gallons of fuel in the tank.

Currently, I'd guess mine is sitting at around 3025#-3050# (dropped another 15# today with a new hood :nice: ).

not what I read
I didn't think I was going crazy Snoozer. I guess the weights I quoted to you in that other thread were correct then.
3500 lbs with me in the car and a full tank. (note to myself) I guess my ET's aren't really all that bad considering it's untuned on street tires
One more week until I get it tuned.

I asked how much you weigh
and your weight is TOO heavy.

that and no tune is why you are slow

I have stock heads stock suspension and weighed in at 3050 with basic weight reduction. with the front seats in and rear seat delete.

either way, I have seen it listed at several things, but who cares.

my car with stereo, nitrous bottle. and absolutely no weight reduction was 3240

2 amps crossover and 2 12s. of course the ORH dropped the weight of the cats. and the gt40 is suposed to be lighter

normmal quick shifting I went 13.05 13.04 only PSing the 3-4

how in the hell are you 3500?

do you have a huge system and weigh 300 pounds?

when I had 3 2 amps 2 12 inch subs, crossover and absolutely no weight reduction, I weigh in at 3240 without me and 3400 with me

The car weighs in at roughly 3200+ lbs plus I weigh in at 240 lbs. That's pretty close to 3500 lbs with my limited math skills.

no, you are the one that cant comprehend. YOU HAVE ALUMINUM HEADS and your cars weighs 3200 plus in a gts....WTF

that = too damn heavy.

my car is 3050-3100 depending on what crap is in there. and thats with IRON heads. it will easily dip under 3000 with a few more mods.

let me help you with your understanding....

Mine weighed 3250 bone stock. Not sure what it is now.

now with a 40+ pound drop from aluminum heads along with the reduction from taking off the stock H pipe and other things his car would be under 3200
he may have added some weight back with wheels, but who knows.

and then you have everything else that comes off. maybe you shoudl take a look at the weight reduction thread and learn a few things about how to have a faster car.

Umm, has the scale you're using been certified? That's pretty damn light. Too light. As mentioned before, mine weighed in at 3260# with 2.5 gallons of fuel and no weight reduction. I know that scale was certified; it was the scale at the local Air Force base.

Maybe you should read the above mentioned weights and admit you're wrong. Maybe that will help you with your lack of understanding. They all have GTS's. Your car is a freak if it only weighed that much. Did you buy it with a few missing parts? You may have been ripped off.
Aluminum heads are suppose make my car a light weight because of an entire 40 pound weight reduction? Your arguement is getting weaker by the second.
Everything stock that came of my car was replaced with aftermarket parts, exhaust included, so there were no gains in weight loss.
The scale doesn't lie.

Anyway, just to prove you wrong I went through the trouble of doing a search and here's the weight of a 1995 Mustang GTS.

3280 LBS !!!!! Minus your 40 lb's for heads and what does that work out to ? Hmmm ... I wonder.

Here's the link so you can't say I made it up.

eys and its at an IHRA track.

my 12.95 was at a 3100 weight and 3165 with me in it.

thast not too light but i dont feel like listing all my reduction for the billionth time.

maybe i should put it in my sig.

Considering I'm a law enforcement officer and use scales regularly in the enforcement of commercial traffic I have to agree with you. The scales I use are recalibrated on a regular basis.
Either that or Snoozer is missing a good portion of his car.
