Have you pulled the battery cable and let the computer try to relearn the setup? Another trick is you can rotate the MAF to change how it reads the air through the 90 degree elbow. Give that a shot. It is not uncommon for the elbow to mess up the airflow so the MAF gives false readings.

A:Keep buying threads in the classifieds or Daggar will reap havok on you!!!

B: Under the hood intakes will do that- I had the same problem. Run it into the fender or out below the bumper

Always keep stock parts...always....I even kept all the 4cyl stuff, from my notch which is a conversion!! Good thing too...Do you know how much or that crap I sold so far?? At least 300 dollars worth.

You can try "clocking" the MAF. You basically turn it 90* to try to get smoother airflow across the MAF sensor.

I had an issue similar to yours. Whoever had my 88 before me put a BBK CAI on it and it worked OK with the stock MAF but when I swapped my C&L over to it the car ran like crap so I swapped back to the stock airbox and all was well.

Had the same problem with a MAC in-fender CAI, Switched back to stock, problem gone, picked up the stock unit from a junk yard for 25 bucks. Good Luck
