We just purchased a 2004 Mustang GT 40th aneversary edition. Its all stock right now including the alarm. The alarm system randomly goes off for no reason. We took back to car kot they said they disconnected the alarm. They didnt it still setsand rrandomly goes off. No trouble codes and the vats or pats work the car starts and drives fine. Any ideas or solutions im mechaicaly incline not looking for a dealership fix if I dont have to. Thankyou

Being that the car is almost 10 years old, it's bound to have some problems. A quick search on the web gave some answers. Try this link:

If the car still starts and runs, you may want to just disable the alarm horn. Should be as easy as removing the 2 wires to the horn component. If you don't want to go that route, try the web but gather some part numbers before you start searching. My guess is that the brain box took a dump and a replacement is required. Typically, there aren't many components to the alarm system and the manufacturers have moved all of the sensors (shock, starter disable, etc.) into the brain box. Not much left--just wires to the alarm horn and various car components (door locks, parking lights, starter, etc.).
