Should i just buy 1.7 rockers or should i go with an aftermarket cam with stock rockers? I'm gonna be going with Thumper heads and probably the BBK intake, but for flow #'s sake, we'll say an edelbrock performer. Let me know where I'll get the best numbers and the best driveability. I'm thinking for aftermarket cams maybe the Steeda 18 (I think) or one of the alphabet cams, but am open to suggestion. I will also be putting on a 65mm Throttle body with the C&L 76mm Mass air kit. I have Motorsport Shorty with an off road h pipe and a Mac catback. Thanks for your help in advance.

I have an E303 and its totally driveable, in fact, i wish i had of gone bigger. Replace the cam/lifters before the rockers unless you dont have access to a garage or are really lazy and dont feel like doing a cam.

E cam is good for driveability. It should work well with a set of thumper heads.

I would still put the 1.7 rockers on it because the increased ratio will open the valve faster. They increase lift but not duration so you get more lift and still keep you duration. This is good because the exhaust valve seem to benifit from more lift.

I ran the stock cam on 1.7 RR's on thumper heads with a performer intake for a while, it worked really well. I have the B cam on 1.7's now, gained some top end but I miss the low end responce and punch of the stock cam.

I run a stock cam with 1.72's. I was very suprised by the seat-o-the pants dyno with just those.
