I was planning on throwing a set of rods, pistons, and pi heads on my npi car to take a little more boost from my s trim. What is the limit of the stock cast crank in my 97 4.6?

Im running stock crank with H beams and manley pistons , from what I have heard anything over 600 rwhp is asking for trouble , but under that you should be fine

The real killer is RPM. As long as you plan on keeping the RPMs under 6200 or so you'll be fine even at 600RWHP.

Agreed. MMR says 600rwhp is no problem, just stay away from the revs.

6800 rpm.... 640 rear wheel. No problems here on stock cast crank. It's cheaper, and they're just as strong up to a certain point. You'll rarely hear of someone breaking a crank in a street/strip car. Road racing is a different animal.

I fully plan on running the stock GT crank with my next combo, whether it be bottle or Vortech fed
