Hey there! You may not remember but I joined a quite a while ago, my 67 mustang was in rough shape, so I joined up to ask you guys some questions. Well now that everything is fixed (all but the grille and front chrome) I was wondering if somebody could tell me the size of the cumbustion chambers of the stock heads on a 289 (non HiPo).
The reason being is I found what looks like a good deal on a pair of AFR 185cc heads, and I dont know which chamber size would be good for my mustang. I don't mind going up to a higher octane gas but nothing too crazy. The 185cc combustion chambers come in 58cc and 61cc. Which should I get?
As of now the 289 has been rebuilt with an edelbrock performer cam, new timing chain, performer intake, and a 500 carb. I hope these heads will give me alot more power. The car isn't set up for racing or anything, this is basically just so I can beat my buddies 66! haha. Hes got a 289 also with 351 heads.
Thanks for any info!!!
