Stock deck clearance?

i was wondering if anyone knows what stock deck clearance is on the 302? by that i mean when at TDC how deep is the pison in the bore?

there really is no right answerr to this question as each one is prolly diff. quality is job 1 ya know.

Yep, tolerances will depend. Mines 0 deck

Yes it will differ for each block. Mine was about 17 thousandth of an inch in the hole when I check it.

i see... so everyone will be diffrent... how do you go about checking?

straight edge over the bore and feeler gauges?

Dial guage with a jig is the proper way to do it...

Mine's zero deck also

mine varied from 0 deck to negative (out of the hole) .009"
