Anybody know what they are? I've been told they are upgraded from GTs and V6s, but I don't know. Somebody on another forum is going to sell me his with 81,000 miles for the price of shipping (GA to IL).

81k? Really?

The stock shocks are made by tokico and are a decent upgrade, but not worth the hassle with that many miles.

With that many miles they are probably not in very good condition. I just replaced my stock shocks/struts @ 82k miles and they were well worn. I could compress them by hand and they would just stay in the compressed state.... stuck.....

Moral of the story: don't buy used shocks/struts unless they are really really low mileage (<10k).

Damn. So I guess I'll be looking at new shocks and struts. I'm thinking of going with Tokico Blues. Any better bang for the buck deals going around?

Not unless you find a slightly used set. Keep in mind, if your shocks are very warn like mine were, new shocks will raise your car up.

The Mach 1 shocks are made by Tokico, but the specs are not the same as the blues.

Either way, I'd run brand new blues over 81k oem shocks/struts any day!

Topic blue struts. I just bought a pair with 5k on them for 100. I'm also going to be putting kyb adjustables in the back.

Looks like I'll be saving (for a while ) to get some Tokico Blues. Any real difference between those and, say, KYB's? Honestly, I'd just like something better than stock- I plan on getting a set of H&R Super Sports, I already have an MM K-member brace and full length subframe connectors installed. Still waiting to be installed are MM lower control arms, MM c/c plates, and MM strut tower brace.

Is your car lowered?

Nothing wrong with getting motorcraft replacement unless your slammed. My car had them on with the C springs, and I can't tell the difference between them and the blues.

Save you money and buy something else like everybody else said, 81k is way too many miles, also the Mach tokico's are made by ford they are stamped by ford on the bottom they are supposed to be designed by tokico and have a tokico gas sticker on them. They may have a better rebound rate over a stock GT shock or something but aren't much better, I still noticed a pretty large improvement over the factory tokico designed when swapped to my Bilsteins.

No they won't. Springs sets the height. Shock and struts only provide dampening.

If you're going with H&R SS springs I would stay away from stock or KYB's. The springs will beat them to death and they will not last long. Your going to need something better, i.e. Bilsteins, Konis, Illuminas.
