I recently ordered some stainless tailpipes to go over my stock tailpipes but I wanted to get the stock tailpipes centered in the opening of the rear fascia before putting them on. Of course this means adjusting the way the muffler sits on its two hangers. I was looking up there and those hangers are like 1/4" or 3/8" round bar and welded onto the muffler.
This is on a GT and the drivers tailpipe is better off than the passenger side. But both need to be lowered and one adjusted side to side.
Kinda mad that it came from Ford like this. Whats the possibility of me taking the car up there for service and having them adjust them?
And are the techs over there confident enough they won't botch the job? From my latest adventures, yes, i'm losing faith in services done for me, paid or not. But can't do this myself and feel I shouldn't have to. I've seen other GTs on the road and their stock exhaust is all nice and centered.
