Stock oil pan for autocross

i have the Canton road race pan in my car. it has a diamond shaped box in it that keeps oil in the pick up at all times.

i wouldnt recomend running more oil than the car calls for. i'd just go have fun with it and hope nothing blows up!

You actually tried to autocross an F150?

I'm sure the 4.6 would be fine. Ford knew the mustang would be taken to the limits in every possible direction, including cornering. Every magazine and automobile program has done handling tests, including steady state max G turns, and none reported engine failures. I have an oil pan from a 4.6 mark VIII and it has lots and lots of baffeling to keep the oil where it is needed, and no doubt your mustang does too.

I'll be finding out how the 4.6 does in autocross in a few more weeks too, hopefully. I autocrossed the 88 quite a few times before going more drag racing oriented, but never tried the 97. Should be fun.

The pan has enough baffling for the average weekend warrior like yourself. Use the correct weight and amount of oil, and go have fun!

I haven't had any problems autocrossing my car. Like others have said, the Mustangs were designed with turning in mind (albeit not as seriously as other cars). Go have fun! Be forewarned: it's addictive.
