Hello all,

I'm new to the forum. I have a 1990 LX 2.3L that I'm working on. One day it'll be a nice car, but for now I just wanna keep it running.

Anyway, everytime I start my car the oil pressure goes to the same level. When the car is off, the oil pressure drops to 0. The oil pressure never increases or decreases (except very, very slightly when there is almost no oil left). If the engine is cold or hot, running for 2 minutes or 2 hours, it shows the same reading.

I read an article about how useless the stock oil pressure gauge is, but surely there must be something wrong with mine. It never, ever changes!

I suppose it doesn't matter really if the gauge works or not so long as I take care of the engine itself, but I'm trying to fix up all the features on the car. Oil or no, it acts like it's stuck. Anybody have any ideas?

well to sum it up the stock guage is just a dummy guage it only takes 5-7psi of oil pressure to make it rise...so its telling you that u have atleast enough oil to make that. kool?? but if u ever feel one is faulty take the single wire off the sending unit and ground it out if the dash guage pegs the guage is good and u have a faulty SU.
