It won't hurt driving without the rear sway bar, until I can get a new one shipped, will it? Mine just snapped on the passenger side.

Suggestions on a good aftermarket rear sway bar??

Wow....that's a new one for me. I've never heard of one snapping before. No, it won't hurt to drive the car with no rear sway bar, but I'd be more concerned with what made it snap in the first place, than I would be with replacing ir right away, were I you.

It's a very common problem, The GT bar is hollow and under load it tends to snap. Replace it with a 'Cobra' or like cobra swaybar.

Just got back from out of state, so I have to go out and pull it off today. Thats what the common fix used to be, just swap the GT with a Cobra one. I'll see if I can find one or check out MM's.

Thanks guys

From the rust on the two corners I'd say its been cracked for a while and waiting to snap. This is where they all break.

Ya know what....come to think of it. My old Fox rear sway bar was rotted in half too. I guess I just figured that it was because the car was old and never taken care of properly. Thought they would have solved that problem since the old Fox Body days?

Thats exactly where mine snapped too!

That's exactly where mine snapped last week! SOB I didn't realizer this was so common. I just posted a thread about this 2 days ago. Mines getting rewelded at our shop as we speak. Just tie your brake lines out of the way so your tires don't rub on the brake line brackets.

Dang, seems pretty common. So the GTs are hollow? Thats GOOD, means its lighter....although mine is still pretty heavy.

Not trying to jack, but since we are on this sway bar thing....will my car be dangerous to drive 80miles to the track if I unbolt the FRONT sway bar? My dad doesnt want me to do it, because he thinks the body will roll to much and be dangerous....700 posts WOOT! LOL.

As long as you're not trying to run a slalom course then it's all good. I know several people that haven't had their front bar on in months and it drives just fine. The body will roll more in corners but just slow down a little and you'll be fine.
