Alright well I just won some like new J&E forged pistons off of ebay for $70 including shipping. Yep...you heard right $70 including shipping. They are in awesome condition. Anyways, is it possible to not use the whole floating piston style and just use stock 88' rods with these pistons and use pressed in pins? If not, can someone show me what rods I will need to use with these for stock heads right now? It will be bored out to a 306.

Probe offers some very nice rods for the price, I've used a fair bit of those along with some SCAT stock replacements. What are the specs on your pistons, or do you have the PT#?

I don't have a whole lot of specs yet on the pistons. They are 4.023 bore (soo I'll need .030 bored over on the block once the rings are on there?) the dome is 150mm. They are full floating obviously, and produce around 9.5 compression with 64cc heads (aren't stock heads 64cc?) I'm starting to think, if I have the block bored to 306....should I just go with a stroker setup. I can get a 347 crank and bushed rods that are for 347 for around $350 new. I've heard people need new flywheel and balancer, or can I get by with stock balancer/flywheel? What about injectors...what else would I need to upgrade to 347 as far as supporting mods go?

ttt.

4.023" bore.......ODD BALL size. Can you get the PT# for the piston, beforte you go any further you need to make sure they will even work for your combo. You can not just put any piston in a motor, you may have clearance issues with the crank weights, rods etc...

As small cc flat top will usually yeild over 10:1 compression, somethiung just doesn't compute out for a dome.... What head was the dome profiled after?

I just emailed J&E to see if they recognize a piston like this. I asked for a part # if they did.

The guy I bought the pistons off of say that the item # is 509f. I don't see on JE's site where this one is but....? And another spec is the piston pin diameter is .906. This help any?

Sounds like the piston is made for something else, the Job Number is JE's internal number for the manufactoring of those pistons,. If you call and give them that number they can give you all the specs and tell you what they are made for.
