Stock rubber suspension bushings

I want to install new bushings in my 5.0, but I can't find a company that sells the stock rubber bushings. Everybody that I've talked to has told me not to use the polyurethane bushings as they make the ride pretty rough. As this is my cruiser I want to keep the ride comfortable, can anybody help? This bushing information came from a stanger that was running low 7's at the local 1/8 mile strip on a stock suspension. I was all geared up to go wild on mine, but his info made me change my mind, now I can dump the suspension cash into the engine. Advice anybody?

are you talkin about up front, back or all around? out back, there are binding issues to think about. up front, i think poly is fine, but we all have different ideas of harsh...i have Delrin on a corner carver of mine, and it is harsh. it makes poly seem plush.

poly bushings are not rough to me, i would go with them, they improve the ride 200%. The rubber bushings are just too soft and not worth replacing with the same.

Keep the rubber bushings in your control arms (lowers, IIRC) because poly will cause binding which will kill performance. Most other stuff can be replaced with poly with no ill effects, though.

Jason, i was gonna suggest the same thing - i even pulled up LRS's page to see if they had them. but i forgot that any search for parts on that site shows the whole catalog.
but that was my first thought too. if nothing else, Downs ford or one of the other big (online) dealers should have them if LRS, etc dont.

Thanks all, so keep rubber bushings in the rear control arms and switch to poly for the rest of the car. Any suggestions on decent bushing sets? I've heard that Energy makes the best poly's, any opinions?

Energy or Pro-thane, same difference. I have a mix on my car right now, although I don't have a lot of poly going at all yet. Works for me.

enery suspensions bushings are a little harder than prothanes bushings. i would go with the best deal you find.
